Dubai Municipality unveils the ‘Circle Dubai’ sustainability project
A city-wide programme to cut waste and drive Dubai toward zero landfill by 2041, powered by community participation.
Launched at the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit, Circle Dubai is Dubai Municipality’s programme to transform waste management through community participation and innovation — targeting 100% diversion of all waste types from landfill by 2041, with recycling making up at least 56% of that goal.
The initiative spans 17 strategic projects and 26 performance indicators across nine sectors, adds a regional digital education platform, and mobilises a Sustainability Ambassadors programme. It reflects, in the Director-General’s words, sustainability “as a way of life, not merely a goal.”
